In my experience our own mobile phone app such as Google Map or Waze etc. are better than the Lexus inbuilt one. It is strange that 2023 model can connect Apple play as wireless but Android auto is still wired!

Yep cable on my ux sport and I use Waze.

Yes. You will need a USB cable if pre MY23. Apple on latest model 2023 is cordless.
